Davis Optical was founded in 1917 in New York City, the modern day Davis Vision was established in 1964 with the development of a new managed care concept in eye care delivery.
In 1995 Davis Vision and Empire Vision Centers, Inc. merged to become one of the fastest growing optical retail organizations in the Northeast.

Our Mission statement of 100% customer delight is much more than a statement, it is a reality and a requirement that is to be put into practice each day. It is essential that professional and knowledgeable service be provided by our associates to all of our customers, both internal and external.
Our culture is founded on treating all customers, both internal and external, with respect. We have an inverted organizational structure formed as a result of our belief that education and training; tools and resources; ideas and benchmarking allow us to manage our framework and support our associates. Our Guarantee
At Davis Vision Retail, we are committed to providing quality eyewear. Our associates are skilled professionals, utilizing quality ophthalmic materials to process your eyewear.
In keeping with our commitment to quality, we are pleased to provide the following guarantee and breakage warranties. No Questions Asked.
Customer Delight Guarantee
If for any reason you are not delighted with your eyeglass purchase, you may exchange your eyeglasses within 30 days for another pair of equal value.
Eyeglass Breakage Warranty
If your frame or lenses should break within one year from the initial purchase date, we will:
- For the first occurrence, repair or replace for free.
- After the first occurrence, repair or replace for a $25 processing fee.
Lifetime Adjustments
Visit any Davis Vision Retail during the lifetime of your frames and we will adjustment and clean them for you free of charge.
Insurance Plan Warranties
We honor all warranties of insurance plans with whom we contractually participate.
Lab Information
Most Davis Vision locations have optical laboratories with the ability to fabricate lenses. Typically, lenses that are in stock can be provided within an hour. If your prescription requires a material not stocked, multifocal or stronger prescription, lenses are provided by our state of the art Central Lens Laboratory.
Our Central Lab uses robotic CNC Generators and other state of the art optical processing equipment to fill the needs of our stores when the lens requirements are outside the capability of in store processing.
Most orders are delivered from our Central Lab within one day. Special Anti-reflective coatings may take additional time.
All of our laboratories are staffed by skilled journeyman that have fulfilled the training requirements to manufacture eyeglasses in our laboratories to the quality level expected by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z-80.1
Quality Assurance
Davis Vision has a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program. The cornerstone of our Quality Assurance program is our Quality Assurance Committee. The Committee consists of Doctors of Optometry, Licensed Opticians, and Company representatives who continually review the quality of care provided, develop standards of care, and recommend appropriate actions for the improvement of patient care and the processes/systems for delivering patient care.
